Learn
Educational material on steel processing, continuous casting machines, and the physics of the mold region.
The Learn section is a short technical primer on continuous casting of steel. It begins with a broad introduction and the place of casting in modern steel processing, then moves into the mechanics of a continuous casting machine, a component-level process overview, and a detailed treatment of the thermally and fluid-dynamically complex mold region where solidification begins.
A troubleshooting and defects guide is planned for a future phase of this site. Until then, the Research section links to the peer-reviewed publications in which specific defect phenomena and their mitigation are analyzed in depth.
